A bit touristy

Tue night we attended a Turkish Cultural Dance Show with mostly traditional dances from the Asian part of Turkey.   Several were very beautiful and the Orchestra was amazing.  Several of the instruments were new to me.  A clarinet like instrument but much longer,  a stringed instrument like a rounded banjo,   tambourines,   a drum played in a styone I didn't recognize.  It was placed horizontal to the floor so the percussionist could use the side of the drum as well as the head to play it.  Many of the solo's got standing ovations.

there were female belly dancers - I had seen some in Cambridge who presented the dance as a spiritual exercise which was different from these women who seemed to be much more seductive.  There was also a male belly dancer which was new to me.

Pictures without flash were welcomed but it was difficult as the dancers were moving so fast!
